"He's delightful" Joel Grey (The MC)
“As head of Virginia Opera for over 35 years I have heard, trained and conducted thousands of singers and Nicholas Hylander possesses one of the great tenor voices in the world today. He is young, handsome, engaging and a terrific talent.”—Maestro Peter Mark
Nicholas Hylander is a rare vocal talent with an astounding range, effervescent stage presence and command of seven languages. He grew up in L.A. and has subsequently lived in Israel, New York, Sweden and Italy. Nicholas always knew that the stage was his destiny; after receiving his degree in economics from UCLA he moved to Trentino, Italy to study under master opera coaches Diana Soviero and Harolyn Blackwell. Soon, his inspiring tenor voice was featured in numerous operas including Candide, Tosca and Madame Butterfly.
Nicholas is on a mission to bring the power and majesty of the classical repertoire to his fellow millennials. He recently finished his second album, Perfect Symphony, a collection of “Popera” masterpieces featuring the classic tenor repertoire as performed by such luminaries as Pavarotti and Bocelli, but with a unique, contemporary twist. Produced by renowned music producer and performer Sam Glaser, it is a fully realized effort with a state-of-the-art band, background singers from The Voice and live strings and horns. Nicholas’ first album, Diaspora, is a collection of timeless Jewish songs from Israel and the world over.
Currently Nicholas lives in Beverly Hills with his wife and daughter Olivia. He is active in cantorial music, he plays guitar and piano and moonlights as a stand-up comedian. Nicholas is a uniquely gifted man who is primed to share his talent with the world.
